Invisalign is a simple solution if there are adults or adolescents still in search of straighter teeth. If they have either have had orthodontic therapy in the past or are currently concerned with the state of their mouth, Invisalign is a wonderful option.

Misaligned teeth can cause social and physical difficulties.  Most people believe having braces as an adult is an embarrassing experience, but the truth is that having orthodontics shouldn’t and usually isn’t awkward, that is why the option of Invisalign is so attractive.  Approximately 20% of all orthodontic patients are adults. While adults skeletal growth has mostly slowed, it is still entirely possible to move your teeth into a more functional and aesthetically pleasing position. It is never too late to worry about straightening their teeth.

Life gets in the way and people believe there is no time left for the treatments that most people get when they are teenagers. The truth is that getting Invisalign when you are an adult can improve multiple aspects of your life. Having a straighter smile doesn’t just make you more attractive, it can also boost your confidence levels and help you maintain optimal oral health because straighter teeth are easier to keep clean.

The main reason to correct issues such as crowding and misalignment of teeth, is that Invisalign can improve the function of your jaw complex and prevent more serious problems in the future. If you currently suffer from Temporomandibular Dysfunction, more prone to cavities where teeth are crowded, or are just tired of not being pleased with your smile, orthodontic treatment can help!

What is Invisalign?

Invisalign uses a series of removable and comfortable aligners that virtually no one can tell you’re wearing. So, you can smile more during treatment as well as after. Invisalign is made with a computer imaging technology and has been proven effective since company was founded in 1997.

Why choose Invisalign?

  • The aligners are virtually invisible, so no one has to know you’re straightening your teeth!
  • They are removable, so there are very little limitations
  • Hygience, such as brushing and flossing are much easier.
  • They are made of comfortable Smart Track® material
  • Recare visits to the doctor’s office are less frequent and much faster
  • Invisalign has proprietary software which allows you to view your virtual treatment plan so you can see how your straight teeth will look when your compliantly complete treatment.

How does Invisalign work?

Aligners are worn for one week, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Each aligner will move your teeth approximately 0.25mm each week, until they have straightened to the final position. You’ll visit Dr. Richards about once every 6 to 8 weeks to ensure that your treatment is progressing as planned. Total treatment time and number of aligners vary individually by case.
